Key relationships (external/internal): Product Managers, Business System Owners, Architects, Development, Project Managers

Customer Insight

  • Understand and have deep insight into customer personas – exploring, identifying and documenting needs and motivations

  • Understand the product portfolio including relevant technical, security, legal, market and regulatory considerations

  • Facilitate workshops involving relevant stakeholders to determine customer needs

  • Support the Community Product Solutions Team, including relevant Product Managers, in the creation and maintenance of a product backlog – drawing from engagement with others such as sales marketing, implementations, operations, clients and partners

  • Identify and suggest product and service improvement opportunities

Business Requirements

  • Requirements writing & supporting the agile teams throughout the development process

  • Developing & reviewing the business capability model (business architecture)

  • Developing & reviewing epic, features and user stories

  • Defining/identifying or contributing to technically viable solutions

  • Maintaining product specifications

  • Producing wireframes and user journeys

  • Prioritisation and maintenance of feature backlogs

  • Developing user acceptance criteria and test scripts

  • Validating solution design against business requirements

Operational Effectiveness

  • Ensure all requirements and deliverables meet or exceed the required quality benchmark

  • Adhering to the agreed requirements methodology & process

  • Progress reporting and ensure activities are delivered to the agreed processes and procedures, operating within the Agile development framework for the majority of development projects

Personal Development

  • Taking personal responsibility for skills development, particularly to enhance business analysis capabilities

  • Actively participating in the performance management process, and taking responsibility for delivering agreed objectives

Experience

  • Industry experience: working for a data services/product organisation is an advantage

  • Experience of operating in different markets, languages, sectors, regulated industries, geographies and cultures

  • Previous experience in a BA role

  • A successful track record of successfully defining business and system requirements for solutions

    Qualifications

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, e.g. degree in software engineering, BCS business analysis qualification, or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).

    Knowledge

  • Fully competent with proven experience leading business processes and activities

  • Working in an agile software development environment

  • Written and supported delivery of detailed technical product requirements and specifications

  • Ideally have experience in design and delivery of high quality user interface and customer experiences

  • Ideally have detailed knowledge of Achilles, its products, process and capabilities

  • Knowledge and experience operating in business to business markets

  • Experience with relevant software tools and applications, such as Microsoft Visio, Balsamiq, Pencil or Axure

  • Delivering on personal objectives
