Thrivent Financial University Recruiting - Event Planning Intern in Appleton, Wisconsin
Administrative Support: creating name badges, table tents, packet assembly, etc.
Participate in internal planning meetings and communication with vendors
Pre-event site visits and inspections
Registration management using Cvent database
Food and beverage selection and oversight
Coordination of mailings and shipping of materials
Post wrap-up details including event evaluations using SurveyMonkey
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, as well as a flexible schedule with the possibility of occasional evening or weekend hours
Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in hospitality, communications, marketing or related field
Currently enrolled in junior or senior year with a track record of excellent academic performance (GPA 3.0+)
Event planners must have the ability to manage multiple tasks, under pressure, while remaining professional and in control
Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required – strong/advanced Excel skills preferred including merges
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Other Critical Factors
Ability to work in the United States for an indefinite period without sponsorship
Interns coming from greater than 50 miles from campus are eligible for subsidized housing
Ability to work during the month of January and full time in the summer
