Position Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: creating name badges, table tents, packet assembly, etc.

  • Participate in internal planning meetings and communication with vendors

  • Pre-event site visits and inspections

  • Registration management using Cvent database

  • Food and beverage selection and oversight

  • Event communications

  • Coordination of mailings and shipping of materials

  • Post wrap-up details including event evaluations using SurveyMonkey

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, as well as a flexible schedule with the possibility of occasional evening or weekend hours

Position Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in hospitality, communications, marketing or related field

  • Currently enrolled in junior or senior year with a track record of excellent academic performance (GPA 3.0+)

  • Event planners must have the ability to manage multiple tasks, under pressure, while remaining professional and in control

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required – strong/advanced Excel skills preferred including merges

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

Other Critical Factors

  • Ability to work in the United States for an indefinite period without sponsorship

  • Interns coming from greater than 50 miles from campus are eligible for subsidized housing

  • Ability to work during the month of January and full time in the summer
