Cengage Learning Market Research/Customer Insights Intern in Boston, Massachusetts


The market research/customer insights intern will work closely with the Customer Insights Team to support the market research and product development efforts of the business. The market research intern’s primary objectives will be to assist with various aspects of custom market research projects, conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis, assist with data/content management and project management/tracking.


  • Assist with primary and secondary market research using internal and external resources

  • Assist with analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data

  • Manage data/content library

  • Assist with project management and project tracking


  • Pursuing a degree in Market Research, Marketing or related field

  • Self-motivated and self-directed

  • High degree of organization

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience with survey design tools such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, etc.

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity in qualitative research in addition to quantifiable research

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Availability to work up to 20 hours a week during the summer (12 weeks total – late June/early July through early August – start/end dates negotiable)

Considered a Plus:

  • Previous market research experience

  • Past experience using SPSS, Tableau
