MBA Intern - Corporate Finance, Marketing Strategic Sourcing Team / Fall 2017

The Marketing Strategic Sourcing Team is responsible for the management of marketing/advertising agency relationships and agreements across the various divisions of Sony Pictures (theatrical, home entertainment, and television). We support all areas of global marketing, including creative, digital, media, print, and publicity. Our responsibilities include monitoring the performance of existing agencies, evaluating prospective agencies, analyzing data to identify new opportunities, meeting with marketing leadership, and negotiating pricing and contracts in projects within the above areas. A main focus in FY’16 is to support all media-related services and establish a governance program.


The selected intern will work on a cross-functional team of procurement professionals, finance and legal resources, and marketing leadership across multiple divisions, both domestic and international. The selected intern will participate with market research, project due diligence, presentation development, and provide in depth analytics to support negotiations and identify new opportunities. Depending on the project, the selected intern may assist in the creation of new pricing models and develop effective sourcing strategies.

The intern candidate will gain:

Real life application of the Strategic Sourcing process Knowledge of various marketing categories and the importance to our business. In depth analytics to develop recommendations to management, presentation of the recommendation. Support negotiation of a multi-million dollar deal. Additionally, the intern will be able to develop his/her business acumen, and gain knowledge/experience over pricing structure and techniques, vendor management, contract management, and overall procurement processes and techniques, vendor management, contract management, and overall procurement processes.


Analytical skills / Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint / Excellent communication skills (writing and verbal) / Ability and desire to learn quickly

Preferable, but not mandatory:

Marketing experience / Financial modeling / Project management skills and the ability to support multiple projects / Supply chain background from academic or other past internships or previous work experience / Interest in a procurement or supply chain career

SPE’s Fall Intern 2017 Program is a 12-week part-time program from September 25-December 15, 2017. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited degree program for the entire duration of their internship and must be available for the full 12 week session.
