Crackle, a unit of Sony Pictures Television, is the leading ad-supported OTT network. Crackle is a global digital brand, with distribution in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Latin America—available on mobile, tablets, game consoles, smart TVs, and connected TV devices.

The Crackle Product team is responsible for owning the Crackle product vision across multiple platforms to deliver maximum value for consumers and advertisers with the goal of helping the business achieve its growth and monetization targets. Crackle Product is a global team that delivers the Crackle applications in all territories and languages. The Product Management intern will evaluate product features, pitch new initiatives, drive projects from ideation to completion and run data analysis to - identify success/failure of initiatives, identify new opportunities and formulate product strategy.

Intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Define key performance requirements (e.g. consumption,engagement and monetization), gather and validate information applying judgment and statistical tests.

  • Keep abreast of industry trends and technologies, and be prepared to apply them quickly

  • Pitch new ideas that could influence long term product strategy

  • Own product feature enhancements/new projects and drive them through the stages of Product Development

  • Support the Product team in analyzing the performance of app updates and new features

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure specifications include all requirements

  • Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports to sponsor.

  • Formulate and utilize various modeling (e.g. video conversion) and optimization (e.g. a/b testing) methodologies to track all products to better manage business.

  • Utilize predictive analytics for key performance indicators (uniques, visits, streams) to assign success metrics to prioritize and develop new features.

  • Collect and analyze data from AdobeAnalytics,Conviva,NewRelic and other analytical software available to help prioritize and develop new products and features.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to solve, clarify and identify key objectives for applications.

The intern will gain experience/exposure to the following:

  • Measure success of new features and ideas by analyzing key metrics.

  • Experience how to create a business case for a project using available data and market trends

  • Experience working in a small group in a large organization. Wearing multiple hats at the same time.

  • Take business objectives and requests from multiple different business units and distill those raw requirements into a fully fleshed outconcept/product that meets the business requirements of all teams.

  • Exposure and hands onexperience with cuttingedge data analytics software, tools and techniques in the digital content industry.

  • Experience how ideas realize from brainstorm sessions to rough requirements & wireframes and finally into working software that users enjoy

  • Understand different viewpoints from stakeholders for new product features and how these are prioritized and fulfilled as the product is developed, tested and launched


  • Serious passion for digital media, specifically mobile video, games and applications

  • Self-starter and self-motivated with the proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-energy environment

  • Excellent writing skills in addition to strong presentation, written and oralcommunication skills

  • Highlyorganized and detail-oriented

  • Ability to work well in a team-based environment, personable, flexible, adaptable

  • Experience analyzing and summarizing insights from a complex data set

  • Knowledgeof data analysis and modeling tools and techniques, eg. - R programming, tableau, advanced excel

  • Experience in Entertainment orTech industry preferred

  • MBA and/or Data Analytics background preferred

SPE’s Fall Intern 2017 Program is a 12-week part-time program from September 25-December 15, 2017. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited degree program for the entire duration of their internship and must be available for the full 12-week session.
