Job Description

The CEMEA (Continental Europe, Middle East & Africa) HR Intern will directly report to and support the People Business Partner (HR Director) in the development and execution of the robust people agenda and initiatives. The nature of the role will allow for strategic and analytical work experience and provide an opportunity to work in a highly dynamic, culturally and geographically diverse sector of PayPal, directly supporting the business.

HR Intern - CEMEA BU

The CEMEA (Continental Europe, Middle East & Africa) HR Intern will directly report to and support the People Business Partner (HR Director) in the development and execution of the robust people agenda and initiatives. The nature of the role will allow for strategic and analytical work experience and provide an opportunity to work in a highly dynamic, culturally and geographically diverse sector of PayPal, directly supporting the business.

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Travel: Up to 10% travel (EMEA region) may be required

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to PBP in planning and driving the CEMEA People Agenda, including the preparation of the monthly talent reviews, and organisation of quarterly and annual people objectives

  • Producing and analysing People data to provide insights and support to the General Manager and other key business stakeholders

  • Key Project: Development and management of the CEMEA/EMEA Intern program to include coordination and oversight of ensuring the key principles of the program are followed with consistent quality across the various management and CoE teams

  • Key Project: Assist in further developing PayPal’s inclusion and diversity strategy, building on work that has been done locally and globally on PayPal’s four cultural values (Inclusion, Wellness, Collaboration and Innovation)

  • Partnering cross-functionally with other departments, BU team members and the HR CoE’s to effectively deliver the People agenda

  • Management and driving of the ongoing open actions/items to ensure timelines are met, issues are progressing to resolution, and deliverable are met

  • Provide weekly formal communication updates to the BU on status and progress of all relevant open actions

  • Other tasks as needed to support BU needs and People agenda

Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business with focus on HR, or a related discipline

  • Previous internships or work experience in HR a plus

  • Passionate about driving a robust people agenda that fosters a culture of engagement and empowerment

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required

  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and multi-task

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), to include speaking clearly positive or negative situations

  • Good networker who is able to navigate the matrix and partner with all the relevant functions, with ability to build rapport with senior leaders and stakeholders

  • Capable of demonstrating a high level of professionalism, including understanding and maintaining confidentiality at all times

  • Must be results focused and highly energetic to drive the defined team and organizational goals and drive projects independently

  • Given the growth nature of this business, individual must be pragmatic and capable of working in a fast moving and entrepreneurial environment

  • Strong business understanding and orientation and effectively handles multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities

  • Highly detailed with a systematic approach, sense of responsibility and strong, positive customer focus

To be considered you must:

  • Be available for 6 consecutive months starting August 2017

  • Have at least one related prior work experience

  • Depending on cases, a work permit/VISA may be required
