Intel Summer Internship - Platform Validation Engineer in Hillsboro, Oregon

Job Description

As an Intern with the Platform Collaboration and Systems Division PCSD, part of the Data Center Group DCG, your responsibilities will be diverse of an exempt technical nature. Job assignments are usually for the summer and may include a technical project with a clear set of deliverables and expectations. Your activities may focus on reviewing detailed validation requirements, including strategies for measuring, and reporting the effectiveness of system validation process. You will collaborate with internal validation teams at times, you may be responsible for hands-on configuration, validation, and testing of next generation server technologies with multiple system configurations for example, OS's, Adapters, memory, HDDs and others as well as recreating issues and characterizing defects for further analysis.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

  • Analytical thinking with excellent problem solving skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any other related field.

  • Three months experience or equivalent coursework in the following fields:

  • Technical projects involving computer systems.

  • Data management and networking.

  • New technology trends, including, Big Data, Machine Learning, High Performance Computing.

  • Applicants must have a legal right to work in the US without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of PC architecture and Intel chipset.

  • High Proficiency with programming and scripting languages such as C/C++, Python, Bash, or Windows Batch.

  • Proficiency with Operating Systems such as Windows and Linux.
