Position Summary:The SBDC state office is seeking to fill multiple Research Intern (student) positions in the Juneau center.

Duties:

100Process and fulfill research requests and projects from SBDC business advisors statewide. Projects can include business and industry research, marketing plan assistance and review, business plan assistance and review, etc.

Assist as needed with workshops for small business clients.

Ensure data is being captured and classified correctly for reporting purposes.

Develop new reports as required.

Other duties as assigned.Essential

The Alaska Small Business Development Center is seeking several part time Business Research Interns in the Juneau Center. You must be located in Juneau to accept this position and be a qualified student within the UA system.

Research Interns will work with Business Advisors statewide to provide small business clients with relevant market research that will assist them in starting or growing their business.

The Alaska SBDC promotes the growth and development of small business throughout the state of Alaska through one to one business advising and training.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Microsoft office suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.). Experience with Google apps (gmail, drive, calendar, etc.)

  • Experience with relational databases as well as an understanding of creating and running queries.

  • Experience with social media marketing platforms.

  • Analytical skills

  • Ability to perform well under pressure.

  • Ability to use computerized tools to organize and analyze information and report findings.

  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Must have strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to work and prioritize tasks.

Typical Education or Training:

  • Sophomore (or higher) standing in a business related degree program. Prefer: 3.0 GPA, or higher

Minimum Hourly Salary: $10.50
