Kwik Trip, Inc.’s Production department is looking for a well-rounded Electro-mechanical Maintenance Intern. We are offering a tuition assistance program for those enrolled in an Electro-mechanical program at Western Technical College. These individuals will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of modern automated process systems in our state of the art Production facilities. Candidates should have experience working with or the ability to learn Allen-Bradley PLC’s and supporting control devices, along with industrial electronics and mechanics.

Regular tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures

  • Communicate with operators and management team

  • Ensure day to day productivity and operational efficiencies are achieved

  • Perform emergency maintenance as required

  • Coordinate with vendors for necessary repairs

  • Inspect facilities and equipment on a regular basis

Skill Qualifications:

Candidates should possess the following: strong mechanical skills;

  • The ability to work well alone and as part of a team

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

  • Accurate and detail oriented

  • Willing to learn and perform a variety of job tasks

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects

  • Ability to support and meet department deadlines

  • Good problem solving skills

  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret schematics and manuals

  • Good working knowledge of hand and power tools

  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

  • All candidates must be able to work safely and within food safety and regulatory standards.

Physical qualifications: stand/walk for up to 10 hours per shift; bend/reach/twist and stoop/kneel/crouch frequently; lift/carry 50 pounds frequently; lift/carry up to 80 pounds occasionally.

Work Schedule: This is a paid internship lasting through the school year(s). Interested applicants must be willing to work up to 20 hours per pay period (2 weeks), and it is important to note that we offer flexibility with school scheduling.
