AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS ENGINEERING INTERN

What does an Aircraft Systems Engineering Intern/Co-op do for Allegiant?

The Aircraft Systems Engineering Intern/Co-op assists the Aircraft Systems Engineering team with their daily tasks in ensuring a safe and reliable airline operation. The intern/co-op reviews technical documentation and provides assessments to assist with daily issues as well as long term modifications on the fleet to help improve the operational reliability.

What are some of the daily duties of an Aircraft Systems Engineering?

  • Review, evaluate and determine next steps on manufacturer Service Bulletins, safety assessments and regulatory requirements on Allegiant's fleet.
  • Assist in the development of the financial analysis for projects.
  • Assist in creation of technical documentation for implementing system modifications on aircraft.
  • Investigate and provide data for decisions on non-conformances resulting from in-service failures or maintenance incidents.
  • Work with the line maintenance and heavy maintenance teams on-site to assist with project incorporation.

What are the minimum requirements to be an Aircraft Systems Engineering?

  • Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited undergraduate engineering degree in either of the following fields:
  • Aeronautical Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Must be at least a Sophomore
  • Minimum GPA required: 3.30
  • Completed a course in Technical Report Writing or equivalent

What other skills, knowledge, and qualifications are needed to be an Aircraft Systems Engineering?

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to present data in a technical and non-technical environment

What are the physical requirements of an Aircraft Systems Engineering?

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required
