Reference #: 9641 Patent Department Legal Intern - Will provide assistance as needed to Chief Patent Counsel, Senior Patent Counsel, and Legal Assistant as needed. Typical projects may include: 1. IP legal research (e.g., issues pertaining to infringement, e-commerce, novelty). 2. Review and update invention disclosure and confidentiality agreement forms. 3. Review contracts and update docket system with contract information. 4. Interview inventors and assist in documenting and supplementing invention disclosures. 5. Perform electronic database novelty searches and prepare preliminary novelty opinions. 6. Trademark and patent application and amendment preparation. Candidate Qualifications (major, degree level, special skills, personal competencies, etc.): Law student having technical background (B.S. in Engineering, preferably Material Science, Metallurgy, Ceramics or Mechanical Engineering), having completed one, two or three years (if part-time/night student) of law school and having an interest in a career practicing intellectual property law.
