Job Description

The Aviation Systems Intern will support NAVAIR and designated Technical Leads/Project Engineers and Technicians in the planning, development and assessment, and execution of projects and tasking for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) initiatives. Tasking may include data collection, analysis, documentation and/or reporting in support of designated activities. Research/documentation in support of the acquisition/design of components, subsystems and systems developed to support, or for installation on Naval and Marine Corps aircraft and other DoD, FMS, and commercial platforms. Primary responsibility is to assess designated element for compliance with U.S. Navy requirements. Additional duties may include the setup, breakdown, and inventory of test equipment; makeup and/or markup test matrices, and assist with test plans.

Education: A High School Diploma is required, with a strong background in Sciences, or Math. Candidate must be enrolled in an ABET accredited college majoring in an electrical engineering discipline with a demonstrated record of achieving high GPA.

Experience/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The selected individual for this internship must have strong knowledge and experience in programming languages such as C, and Python. Candidate must have good interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively and professionally at multiple customer organizational levels. The individual must also meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. MATLAB knowledge and experience is a plus.
