The New York based seasonal internship position for the Energy BLM team will be responsible for analyzing strategic business initiatives to assist the growth of CME’s Energy business. This includes creating market and competitive analyses, quantitative and qualitative reports of customer volume and trading analysis, market forecasts, and scenario analysis for different business initiatives and strategies.
This role requires a passion for business strategy and problem solving, a strong familiarity with financial markets and derivatives, and a comprehensive understanding of energy markets.
Assist senior team members in developing business models for pricing strategies, incentive structures, product extensions, new products/services and competitive positioning.
Execute ad-hoc projects to identify industry trends, customer impact of potential changes, and be able to deliver this and similar research in clear and business-focused formats.
Work to expand customer view with value added data. Requirements:
Pursuing or completion of a Graduate or Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related fields.
Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Strong academic performance.
Excellent communication skills and ability to display key findings in a succinct manner.
Competent in Excel and Powerpoint.
Familiarity with programming languages (C#, R, Python, or SQL) is preferred.
Ability to work 20-40 hours a week at CME’s New York location.
