PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The S/4HANA Cloud Product Management, Co-Innovation and Packaging team has the necessary resources, talent and focus to ensure customer success with SAP S/4HANA Cloud. Rapid delivery of new analytical content remains one of our key competitive differentiators, and because of this, we have developed a framework - a fully integrated model – that brings teams closer between product and content and ultimately provides value to our customers.

We hold the ownership for the content and configuration of end-to-end scenarios and are therefore in the driving seat to deliver leading end-to-end solutions to the cloud market.

Best Implementation Practices, across all Lines of Business (LoB) and innovative solution areas are packaged and offered as SAP Best Practices. Use of this content allows our customers to achieve rapid time to value and a low total cost of ownership in their S/4HANA Cloud investment.

As a Senior Product Specialist for packaged solutions in the Controlling area of SAP, you take responsibility for the definition, delivery and market success of specific solution package offerings in the area of cloud and on-premise integration. You bring industry leading practices to life in our end-to-end solutions, leveraging industry leading SAP software applications to drive customer solutions. By collaborating extensively with global stakeholders you ensure stakeholder alignment and the incubation of new ready-to-consume solutions. You build relationships with selected lighthouse customers and support the successful commercialization of SAP S/4HANA Cloud based solutions.

The cloud teams embrace those objectives by providing Best Implementation Practices for cloud solution adoption in the area of financial accounting and controlling. Our content supports our customer’s journey to transform their business by scaling and enabling the adoption of SAP’s most innovative products.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

We are looking for a talented product owner - intern, to strengthen our team. In this role, you will analyze market requirements for Controlling, based on real-life best practices adopted by customers and stakeholders. Your market analysis will comprise of analyzing and consolidating customer requirements, performing in-depth competitive analysis, and understanding trends in the market. Collaboration with the development organization to execute on the solution is significant part of the daily work.

Collaboration among team members is essential. Every team member is encouraged to adopt a holistic view, making their SAP Best Practices an integral part of the solution value proposition. We guide by the principles and mission of team and organization. Enabling our team members to be able to develop themselves and their area of responsibility is key. We support this by training, onboarding sessions and training on the Job.

This position requires close collaboration with the product team and the ability to establish itself as a collaborative partner, while maintaining focus on our objectives. It offers a unique opportunity to define and establish SAP Best Practices processes with cutting edge technology and innovative new products.

  • You will utilize cutting edge technology to support new approaches for user-friendly configuration of SAP’s flagship solution S/4HANA. You will help in defining the UX and Controlling strategy for SAP S/4HANA

  • You will be responsible for working on Controlling best practices

  • You will collaborate closely with the product development teams to integrate critical product features and functionalities for an innovative product and to be involved in the building of the functional requirements for such.

  • You will collaborate with the development organization to get those concepts established and deliver a valuable solution for our customers

  • You will collaborate with the SAP Fiori product and solution management to define a clear path for Controlling/UX best practices

  • You will collaborate with the SAP S/4HANA product and solution management to define role based navigation for SAP S/4HANA best practices

  • You will actively seek feedback on your deliverables from stakeholders, such as partners and customers and synthesize requirements into executable deliverables

  • You will work on assets supporting the use and adoption of those solutions with our customers

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills

  • Currently pursuing a University Degree (BA, Bachelor or Master) in Accounting, Information technology or Business Administration

  • Experience in SAP HANA, HANA Cloud Platform

  • Strong experience in Finance, Accounting, Controlling or Data Analysis

  • Strong analytical and logical skills

  • Willingness to embrace new topics and technology

  • Self-starter with passion to be a hands-on expert in the required filed

  • Customer orientation with a strong focus on quality

  • Ability to work in an international team

  • Very good English language skills

Preferred skills

  • Basic understanding of Business Processes and Accounting and Controlling principles

  • Understanding on SAP HANA and SAP Fiori technologies

  • Understanding of SAP Cloud technologies

  • Ability to understand and analyze customer needs, market requirements and analyst reports, synthesize requirements and drive execution towards successful delivery

  • Strong communication profile with the ability to engage with stakeholders

  • Excellent presentation and networking skills

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Strong understanding of the marketplace for Controlling Cloud solutions

  • Experience in data and business process analysis and developing, implementing, selling or supporting SAP Controlling solutions is considered helpful

LOCATION

  • Able to work on site in Palo Alto, CA for 6 months starting immediately. Availability to work full time (40 hours a week) during summer and winter and at least part-time (20 hours or more hours per week) during school year.
