IHS Markit – Intern, Latin Amercia Gas & Power
IHS Markit, is a leading advisor on global energy markets. Our expertise covers all major energy sectors on a global and regional basis - from oil and refined products, natural gas and coal, to electric power and renewables. A leader in energy sector research and consulting , our client list spans the world’s largest energy players including production companies, financial institutions and service companies. We are looking for an Intern to cover power fundamentals for our Latin American Gas & Power advisory service. The position will be based in our Rio de Janeiro.
General Job Duties:
Support hands-on analysis for IHS Latin America Gas & Power research team focusing on regional power issues, investment climate, and market fundamentals.
Assist the articulation of key power industry issues, insights, and market outlook via written reports and presentations
Support the development of IHS projections of near-term and long-term power demand, supply, and prices using a quantitative modeling approach.
Support investment analysis on new developments across the region and along the value chain.
Interest in learning how to conduct research and analysis on different power technologies and draw strategic implications.
Gain an understanding and support analysis of policy and regulatory matters in key power markets across the region.
Assist ongoing research and reports and data/models management.
Actively participate in consulting projects.
Prior academic or professional experience and knowledge of Latin American power markets are preferred.
Superb written and oral presentation skills in English.
Enrolled in bachelor's degree program in economics, statistics, Gas & Power technology, engineering or related fields with expected graduation in end 2018 or later.
Outstanding academic record.
Ability to work well in a team oriented environment providing ideas and open feedback.
Highly organized, creative and proactive to ensure deadlines are met consistently with high quality output.
