Job Summary:

This position is seeking a student currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering degree program/. The ideal candidate should have a passion for vehicles and transformation systems technology, accompanied with exceptional communication skills, great attitude, be a result oriented team player, and a great problem-solver. The Mechanical Engineers will design, development, testing and support production of Textron Systems Marine and Land Systems’ family of Land and Marine Vehicles as well as integration of vehicular components, systems and subassemblies in conjunction with new design, product improvement, field and production problem resolution, and other assigned tasks.

The Mechanical Engineers also create engineering model and drawing in CAD system such as SolidWorks, NX, CATIA and Pro-E. Perform engineering calculations, writing specifications, formulating sketches, testing criteria, failure analysis, cost and scheduling estimates. Provide technical support to designers, draftsmen, and test engineers for technical data package delivery. Be able to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

GPA of 3.2 or better preferred. Technical internship experience preferred.

Applicant must be able to demonstrate a solid foundation in mechanical design principles. Applicant should have experience with mechanism development, performing hand and finite element calculations, prototyping, packaging, performance specifications, material tests, and research investigations. Desire and ability to operate in a team environment is required.

Ability to use computer-aided design tools is required; some experience with Unigraphics/NX is preferred. Good computer skills (e.g., word processing, spread sheet, presentation graphics). Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and possess good leadership skills.
