Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The internship with the Textron Systems Security Department is designed to provide hands-on experience with classified information systems, an understanding of business, and how Department of Defense interests are protected within industry. The incumbent can expect a challenging opportunity, taskings that impact business and being part of a team of individuals who take pride in their work.

The intern will be primarily assigned within the Information Assurance section during the summer program. During this timeframe, he or she will be exposed to information systems, secure databases, government directives and guidance, classified materials, security control functions, and project initiatives.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Customer assistance

  • System establishment

  • Media control

  • Equipment clearing and sanitization

  • Configuration management

  • Security education and awareness

  • System audits

  • Database maintenance

  • Security briefings and presentations

  • Other duties as assigned in the support of Industrial Security

Other responsibilities may include:

-Personnel security administration

-Media control

-Visitor Control and Badging

-Classified Document Control

-Destruction of classified material

-Equipment clearing and sanitization

-Security education and awareness

-Counter Intelligence Support

-Database entry and maintenance

-This will provide them with an array of core technical proficiencies to process classified information systems and an overview of security management.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Matriculated undergraduate or graduate student at a junior or senior level from an accredited university in Cyber Security, Homeland Security, Information Assurance, Law Enforcement, Computer Science, Business Administration, Political Science, Criminal Justice and/or Judicial System.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

  • Demonstrated record of academic excellence.

  • Analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Team player, self-motivated and entrepreneurial.

  • Detail oriented with a complete focus on quality results/deliverables.

  • Organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Technical proficiency in Operating Systems, Office Suites, Basic Network Concepts
