Merit Medical Sensors Systems, Inc. is looking for intern candidates for our 2017 Sensors Internship positions. Qualified candidates for our Sensors Engineering position will be University students (Preferably in their Junior or Senior year) studying Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Chemical Engineering. Interns will be called upon to support a variety of engineering and technician based activities in a fast paced Sensors engineering environment SUMMARY OF DUTIES Performs routine technical tasks including assembling or constructing simple or standard equipment or parts, and may service or repair simple instruments or equipment. Will compile and review equipment documentation packages and process them for change control. May edit and generate equipment detail drawings and schematics. Will also support Sensors by performing product testing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED * Assembles fixtures and equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical assembly. * Conducts a variety of tests using established and clearly defined methods. * Prepares test specimens, adjusts and operates equipment, and records test data, pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors. * Extracts engineering data from various prescribed sources and processes the data following well-defined methods, and then presents the data in prescribed form. * May work on project teams to assist engineers and other personnel. * Performs other related duties and tasks as required SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Graduation within 2 years with a technical degree (ME, EE, or ChemE preferred) . Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. . Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs . Ability to work well as a team member. . Knowledge of various tooling and testing equipment. . Posses a valid UT drivers license and transportation. . Solidworks & AutoCad drafting experience a plus HELPFUL SKILLS * Proficiency in 3D modeling (Solidworks or Pro Engineer) * Understanding of medical industry processes; molding, extrusion, assembly * Software Validation * Programming Experience * Equipment Design * Polymer Science This engineer could be working in the wafer fabrication, wafer dicing, and-or electronic assembly areas.
