Job Summary: The Intern-Logistics Operations will support the operations team in their efforts to identify and select best in class transportation options utilizing industry leading technology. These support duties will include coordinating freight movement activities to ensure 100% customer satisfaction using all modes of transportation.Essential Job Functions:Provide exceptional customer service by developing good working relationships within the team, both internal operations and external customers.Handle customer shipment routing requests with the assistance of a Logistics Coordinator.Maintain performance metrics for an external customer such as On Time Delivery, On Time Pick up, invoice timeliness, etc.Identify and resolve day-to-day customer concerns to ensure overall satisfaction.Identify and develop innovative ways of streamlining operational processes within the guidelines of both customer requirements and team goals.Assist and support internal account leadership when needed.Provide support to other Operations Teams and interact with other departments and support their requests.Develop knowledge of all modes of transportation e.g. Less-Than-Truckload, Truckload, Intermodal.Duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time.Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program.General knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Strong customer service skills and passion to work through obstacles to produce results.Proficient in multi-tasking and managing multiple projects; able to meet target completion dates.Excellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to use creativity and make recommendations accordingly.Ability to manage multiple priorities as well as flexibility to adapt to change with new systems and methods while working in a team environment.This position is a school year internship starting in September 2017 and ending in May 2018. All applicants must be able to work 20 hours a week.
