Job Summary

Offers hands-on experience in the exciting world of hotel operations and hospitality, necessary to prepare for and develop a career path within Marriott International's portfolio of brands.

University or Hotel School undergraduates specializing and studying in hospitality related fields will be preferred for certain internship positions, and for more specialist disciplines, for example those students pursuing business or similar related courses, consideration is also given for those related internship opportunities.

The purpose of the internship is to give a full understanding of the operational functions of the food & beverage department and help the intern to develop operational competencies. The intern will rotate between different outlets and will be able to gain experience in the roles of server and host.

Interns will be sales people and maintain a complete knowledge of all products available in the restaurant and through that drive revenue to the maximum of their capabilities.

Each employee has the right to be involved in the operation and planning of different processes and procedures as well as the service concepts of the department.It is the responsibility of the intern to be involved in these things by constantly attending training and Q.I.T s so pride and joy can be part of the work environment. Interns should take full responsibility for their guests and always make sure that guests needs are met to their satisfaction.

The intern reports directly into the Department head and will follow the direction that has been set for the restaurant according to hotel and Food and Beverage goals. The intern maintains a positive relationship with all kitchen staff to ensure that all guest requests and orders are promptly met at all times. The intern will work with stewarding to maintain cleanliness and quality of equipment within the restaurant.
