Job summary: As a snowmaker you will be one of a proud and respected team producing snow on Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. You will operate various types of snowmaking equipment and perform other related tasks in the effort to help exceed our guests’ expectations. Your team support of others, toward this goal, will play a large role as well.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Continually strive to exceed our Guest’s expectations and to create memories for guests and staff as the best mountain experience again and again

  • Abide by all Whistler Blackcomb policies and procedures at all times on or off the mountains

  • Perform all tasks safely as per Worksafe and Whistler Blackcomb policies and procedures

  • Produce quality and specific density snow through the use of various snowmaking equipment

  • Perform snow clearing duties (most at heights) and minor maintenance duties as required

  • Operate various types of motorized equipment on and off the mountain

  • Work closely with other departments, such as Grooming, Ski patrol, Lift Operations and Events

  • Typically work up to 12 hour shifts between 12:00 am and 12:00 noon, or between 12:00 noon and 12 am, typically in 3 or 4 day periods (weather permitting)

Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude with record of excellent work ethic and safe practices

  • Possess minimum requirements of the Whistler Blackcomb Driver’s Standards Policy

  • Physically fit and able to perform demanding manual tasks

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Able to think and work independently, but as part of a team

  • Able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate or better level

  • Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn

  • Snowmaking, skidoo and/or snowcat experience is a great asset

  • Able to work day and/or night shifts

  • Comfortable working at heights

  • Proof of clear criminal record check
