Job Description

Intern – Photo Studio (Photography) Fall 2017

Your Impact: Fisher-Price's internship program is set-up to provide a real world experience for students, one that will prepare them for post-graduation employment in professional photography. As an Intern, you will work alongside experienced photographers in our high-volume photo studios in East Aurora, and Buffalo, NY creating original and innovative photography, still and motion, for packaging, Brand and ECommerce. As a Photography Intern you will help maintain product flow, manage equipment and will be asked to shoot during high volume times. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from an experienced studio team, contribute your ideas, and make an impact on our business! Responsibilities:

  • Assist in interpretation of creative direction that supports the Brand identity to achieve conceptual excellence of all photography and video
  • Works with creative lead to ensure each project is effectively supporting the Brand image
  • Assists with creating sets, using lighting, camera and computers as needed
  • Will be asked to shoot during busy times (training provided)
  • Contributes to a safe and fun environment when working with child models and their parents and serves as support on-set
  • Flexibility required to support and drive to photo shoots at multiple locations
  • Collaborates with studio team to ensure product workflow runs efficiently
  • Assists in the set up and tear down of studio equipment and lighting fixtures
  • Troubleshoots basic production challenges under the direction of senior staff
  • Support safety initiatives regarding studio workflow and processes

  • Must currently be enrolled in Bachelor’s degree in photography or related field
  • Portfolio with some practical experience
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Ability to be flexible in all aspects of the studio process, depending on the need of the day
  • Use tools such as Adobe connect to share images and receive direction
  • Proficient working knowledge of Mac and PC computing platforms, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience with imaging software and color management applications
  • Able to lift and move up to 30 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some experience working on personal school projects using artificial strobe lighting in an indoor studio environment
  • Experience assisting in a studio
  • Knowledge of commercial photo studio workflow is helpful
  • Previous experience working with children and an enjoying it!
  • Self-driven and able to easily communicate creative ideas and collaborate in a team environment
  • Ability to thrive in a high paced work setting and proven to be a quick problem solver

Our business hours are Monday thru Thursday 8am – 5pm, and Fridays 8am – 1pm
