The Department of the Army Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students currently enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work and get paid while exploring federal careers through a job with the Department of Army.
This is a temporary intern position not to exceed 6 months and can be extended up to the maximum if two years. The selectee will be responsible for moving expenses and acquiring housing in the general area of Walla Walla, WA, where the position is located by the entrance on duty date.

This intern position is designed to provide real work experience assisting Engineers and Architectures. The appointment is temporary in nature not to exceed 6 months, but may be extended up to the maximum of 2 years.
Who May Apply:
Students who are eligible for participation in the Department of the Army Internship Program
Positions are open to current students in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.
Prepare preliminary and final architectural designs, working drawings, specifications and design analysis for all types of structures and facilities.
Reviews shop drawings, catalog cuts, and descriptive material submitted by manufacturers and/or contractors against the provisions of the plans and specifications.
Serves as Architect Intern. Assist in evaluating design objectives identifying most economical and efficient procedures for project development.
Makes field trips to inspect and advise on the scope, extent, and cost of architectural design features involved in the improvement, rehabilitation, modification, alteration, and addition to all types of civil project buildings and structures.

The selectee will work full time during the summer and highly encouraged to work part time when the new semester begins.
To meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-03 level, applicants must successfully COMPLETED 1 academic year (30 semester hours/45 quarter hours) of post high school education in a field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite AND I am enrolled/or accepted for enrollment for at least a half- time course load at an accredited institution of higher education. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
- Knowledge of Architectural Design.
- Ability to Perform Basic Engineering Tasks.
- Knowledge of Safety Protocol in the use of Tools and Equipment.
Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience.
