SAP Language Services (SLS) is responsible for coordinating and supporting the translation of all SAP software solutions in up to 40 languages. Within SLS, the Language Technology group supports:

  • Approximately 300 SAP translation systems (SAP translation software)

  • Third-party language technology tools (translation memory, machine translation, language checking)

In-house and partner translators and coordinators who translate SAP products into 40 languages


We are looking for a highly motivated intern to work in the SLS Language Technology team and carry out one or more of the following tasks:

  • Create/configure a chatbot that will integrate our support database with team communication and collaboration platforms at SAP (e.g. Slack or Microsoft Teams).

  • Develop a framework to automate testing of new versions of third party translation software used at SAP (e.g. SDL Trados GroupShare).

  • Assist the Language Technology team in processing support requests.


  • Preferred field(s) of study: Enrolled in a degree program majoring in Natural Language Processing, Computer Science, or Computational Linguistics.

  • Computer skills: .NET development in C# and/or Java development, Javascript, Perl, markup languages such as XML and JSON, ideally SDL Trados software, knowledge of conversational bots, prior experience with knowledge representation models, e.g. taxonomies

  • Language skills: Fluent written and spoken German and English

  • Soft skills: Strong communication skills; capable of working in a team; independent

  • Others: Fast-learning, goal-orientated working style; strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; diligent and with an eye for detail
