Job Description

Able to identify, diagnose, and recover various ordnance, in various configurations, with or without technical data available. Demilitarize fired and unfired explosive ordnance. Operate equipment designed to detect ordnance on the surface or subsurface. Possess the ability to improvise and recovery techniques when technical data is not available, utilizing acquired skills from formal schooling. Dispose of ordnance, explosive and debris via acceptable methodologies, commonly by detonation and burning. Interpret technical data based on experience and formal training to develop failure analysis procedures. Operate a variety of specialized equipment designed for ordnance recovery. Perform other duties as assigned.


Pay Rate: $29.00/hour Shifts/Hours: Vary by mission requirements.Minimum Qualifications:• Must be a U.S. Citizen and not hold multiple citizenships.• Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.• Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.• Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate (MIRATEK, SPIRAL, VETS, or WESTECH). (for internal postings)• Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.• Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.• Must be able speak, write, read, and understand English.• Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude.• Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.• Must use “down-time” effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company.• Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.• Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability. • Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.• Must have a demonstrated ability to follow instructions and company policy. • Must be able to deliver quality products to the customer and be responsive to their needs. • Must be safety and security conscious, complying with rules and policies.• Must be able to work both as part of a team and independently.•Meet all requirements of ORT 1 plus the following: -Minimum 6 months experience as ORT1 or a minimum of 3 years military Explosive Ordnance Disposal or UXO experience and relevant heavy equipment experience. -Demonstrates competence in all basic ammunition recovery operations, skills, and practices. -Demonstrates competence in operations of the OB/OD permitted site. -Able to direct a small crew to execute an assigned basic ammunition recovery task and responsible for performance of that crew. -Competent in heavy equipment, vehicle, and equipment operation (zero deficiencies in 6 consecutive months). -Meets monthly explosive training standard. -Responsible for performing all tasks correctly, completely, and proficiently.Physical Requirements:• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.• Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.• Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.• Must be capable of lifting 100 pounds unassisted. • Must be capable of frequent squatting, stooping and crawling. • Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Ammunition Recovery.

Desired Qualifications:• Five years’ experience in range operations and ability to operate heavy equipment. • 40 hours of HAZWOPER. • Level II Ammunition Certification. • Rad Worker II. • RSS TNG OR-001, Ammunition Recovery.Closing Date: Open until filled.
