Enterprise Technology is responsible for technology strategy and management, central engineering, architecture, IT and technical operations for The Walt Disney Company (TWDC.) The Enterprise Technology Digital Media Agency helps TWDC segments and business units build, maintain, and operate digital media properties by partnering in all phases of development (strategy through launch and operations). By providing a wide range of consulting services throughout the product lifecycle, we guide business units through the relevant TWDC standards, requirements, and compliance processes, ensuring best practices are followed.
Our services include: business strategy/analysis, project management, requirements development, RFP/vendor selection, SOW/contract best practices, creative/user experience, technology consulting, solution evaluation/selection, hosting evaluation/selection, security best practices, Web analytics, and SEO. Once engaged, we continue working with the customer for the life of the product.
Responsibilities : A Day in the Life...
Provide support for domain name management activities across all of our brands; including ABC, ESPN, Marvel, Pixar, and Lucasfilm
Help keep project status and reporting activities up to date
Assist with research projects related to new products and advertising campaigns
Attend meetings with stakeholders across many different business segments, assist with note taking and reporting results
Participate in discussion regarding domain name management strategy
Review domain name monitoring data, and provide suggestions for followup
Provide assistance to domain name points of contact in other business segments regarding fulfilling requests, access to vendor tools, etc.
Create and maintain documentation of domain name management policies and procedures
Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external teams and collaborate with colleagues
Basic Qualifications :
What You Bring...
Basic understanding of the domain name industry and the purpose/uses of domain names
Understanding of the Domain Name System (DNS), both client and server
Interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills
Ability to effectively communicate technical topics
Ability to adapt to rapidly shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
Keen eye for details including ability to discern one-character differences in data/reports
Ability to organize tasks/priorities and manage time effectively
Ability to learn and apply a variety of processes and technical tools to complete tasks
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in a fast-paced enterprise technology environment at a multinational corporation
Experience working with 3rd party vendors
Project management skills, including a variety of different methodologies
Understanding/Experience with the domain name business, including registrars, registries, gTLDs (new and old), and ccTLDs
Experience with transferring domain names
Understanding of the whois protocol, and how to use it to gather domain name registration data
Understanding of HTML, basic web design concepts, and 301/302 redirects
Experience using and maintaining open-source and/or bespoke software
Familiarity with Service Now, Confluence, Jira, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
Understanding/Experience with SSL/TLS certificates, including CSRs, and validations
Experience with Unix command line tools, such as grep, diff, and sed
Required Education :
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or graduated with a major in computer science, web design, web technology or related.

Additional Information :
The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2018 through August/September 2018
Candidate must be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
Able to provide own housing and transportation in the Burbank/Glendale area
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Must be at least 18 years of age
