Job SummaryNuSil is looking for a methodical undergraduate with knowledge of market research techniques for a challenging summer internship opportunity. The selected candidate will work closely with senior leadership to analyze customer behavior, ordering patterns, rationale/motivations, and statistical data in order to support accurate forecasting. The successful market research analyst intern will be able to autonomously analyze qualitative data, trends, customer tactics/strategies, and supply chains with the purpose of increasing visibility over market demand so as to optimize the company’s manufacturing, planning, and scheduling.


  • Understanding business objectives and collaborating with senior leadership to design a plan to discover factors influencing the market.

  • Understanding value chain and supply chain beyond direct customers to discover downstream dynamics, decision hot spots along the chain, influencing factors, seasonality, and relevant trends.

  • Collecting data on customers, distributors, end-users, and market place, then consolidating information into actionable items, reports, and presentations.

  • Compiling and analyzing statistical data, collected using modern and traditional methods.

  • Summarizing major findings, deriving a go to strategy, defining a roll out plan, and providing recommendations.

  • Performing valid and reliable market research, and supply and value chain analyses.

  • Interpreting data, formulating reports, and making recommendations.

  • Conducting online market research and cataloging findings into databases.

  • Providing competitive analyses on our direct customers’ market offerings.

  • Identifying market trends, pricing/business models, sales, and methods of operation.

  • Evaluating program methodology and key data to ensure that the data and angle on releases are accurate.

  • Defining a future strategy and a plan to remain fully informed on market trends, influencers, relevant seminars, conferences to attend, and other means to anticipate market demand. In addition, providing recommendations for best roll out after internship closes.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

  • Experience or knowledge in market research analysis.

  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data and multi-task.

  • Good knowledge of statistical packages, databases, and proven experience in data processing software (Excel, pivot functionalities, etc.).

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, Power Point literate.

  • Ability to use search engines, web analytics, and other business research tools.

  • Familiarity with CRM programs.

  • Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc.) is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of data warehousing, modeling, and mining.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking is necessary.

At the end of the internship, the intern will be required to deliver a business presentation to the company’s Leadership Team.


July 1 – August 31, 2018

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Hours 8 am – 5 pm daily, total 40 hours/week

This paid summer internship is 60 days maximum.
