Job Description With questions or for more information about the State of Michigan Internship Program, please visit: State of Michigan Internship Program Overview emCurrently Accepting Applications For The Winter/Spring, Summer and Fall Semesters/em The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Disability Determination Services Evidence Assistant Intern will receive referrals from the Disability Examiner, Physician, or Manager and will attempt to obtain both medical and non-medical evidence needed to adjudicate Social Security Disability Claims. This may require written or phone contact to medical and non-medical sources. The student intern may develop claims evidence, follow up on claims evidence, or obtain claims evidence via phone calls to claimants, schools, medical treatment sources, hospitals, or other sources to obtain statements prior to adjudication of the claim. The intern may review medical records electronically and document case files with evidential summaries. There may be other duties assigned. Required Education and Experience Applicants must be enrolled in a college or university at the time of application and during the internship in any major.
