The Finance Intern position will provide a summer internship in our Downtown Houston office to students who are pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Accounting or Finance. As an Intern, you will have a rewarding internship assignment (12 weeks, May - August) that allows you to learn and develop the skills necessary to be successful in your career.


This position will assist in supporting all aspects of compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. In this position, interns will be given wide exposure to various accounting and IT processes and controls (e.g. how different types of transactions are initiated, processed, and recorded from beginning to end, and how different departments interact with each other within the process). The intern will also have the opportunity to work with multiple accounting and IT department personnel, including many who are the subject matter expert in their area.

Under the direction of the SOX Accounting and SOX IT Managers, interns will assist in supporting compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), including:

  • Participate in the walkthrough meetings led by external auditors and SOX Specialists to gain an understanding of various processes and controls

  • Perform control testing by evaluating the supporting documentation against the SOX test plans

  • Interact with process owners and control owners

• Coursework demonstrating aptitude for systems and technology

• Minimum GPA of 3.0
