Direct Supply Operations Intern in Milwaukee, Wisconsin


Job Summary: Every day Direct Supply Local Services helps keep Grandma and Grandpa happy and healthy by sending service technicians to fix air conditioners, kitchen equipment, plumbing, and other mechanicals in their senior living communities. This type of work never stops, so we need your help to make sure the jobs keep running smoothly during the business day, in the evenings and on weekends. The Local Services Intern supports the main team inside and outside of normal business hours, making sure Grandma doesn’t have to wait to be happy again!

You will have the choice to work right on the MSOE campus in the friendly confines of the German Foreign Language Arts building, right across from the CC or from the Direct Supply Campus. All technology, training, soft drinks and snacks will be provided.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Receive service requests from customers, sales, and service providers that come via phone, mobile applications, and email.

  2. Dispatch work to pre-selected service providers.

  3. Stay connected with customers and service providers to make sure urgent jobs are going well.

  4. Escalate to your backup support from the main team when anything gets hairy.

  5. Work on projects to support the TELS Operations Teams

At times there may be fewer service events happening that need your attention. When it’s slow you’ll be asked to help the main team by updating some of their jobs, helping invoice customers, etc.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Availability to work during core business hours, evenings, and/or weekends based on business need and school availability.
  • Able to use systems and technology to multi-task and manage time.
  • Clear, concise, and professional written and oral communications.
  • Refusal to let Grandma be sad
