Position Summary:We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern.The mission of Real Estate Development and Facilities (RED+F) Department is to plan, develop, operate and maintain NYU Langone Health System campus and facilities, and provide the foundation for its growth and success in the 21st century. RED+F provides strategic campus planning and project development services, including architectural studies, programming, design, construction and associated infrastructure and technological upgrades, for new structures and renovations.The Department also operates and manages all facilities, infrastructure and related support services across the medical center.RED+F is composed of the Real Estate, Housing, Planning & Project Development, Facilities Operations & Management, Finance & Administration, Campus Security, Environmental Services, Environmental Health & Safety, Radiation Safety and Clinical Engineering divisions.Position Summary: In this role, the intern will help the Campus Transformation team and participate in daily operations and various work processes. This opportunity will provide exposure to a variety of stages in the construction management process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help with organizing and preparing our new hospital (Kimmel) for the users.

  • Attend user meetings, assist with post-occupancy surveys, gather Day-two requests.

  • Someone who will be in charge of combing through some architectural drawings and helping us identify new furniture and equipment needs. Training will be involved. No experience is necessary.

  • Collating of architectural documents, creating current sets (its administrative but with large 36x42 sheets.)

  • Assisting with creating presentations and gathering information.

  • Getting information out to the FitUp, move-in and transition committees and helping us close tasks tracking down info and people.

  • Presenting graphs and figures in graphic charts.

  • Assist with contract/purchase order close outs.

  • Writing a monthly report and would like to create a 11x17, graphic summary with all the pertinent information.

  • Taking trips to the project site, sit in on some design and construction meetings, work with interesting, fun and nice people!

Minimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have knowledge of efficient office procedures and recordkeeping practices;Proficient in MS Office Products, databases and presentation software;Proper English usage, spelling and punctuation;Effective communication and interpersonal skills; professional and courteous manners;Ability to interact with tact and discretion with supervisors, officials, employees and the general public;Ability to perform assigned duties with minimum of supervision; identify problems and impement or recommend solutions;Ability to interpret and apply policies and procudures within limits of authority;Ability to learn and adapt to new technology relating to office practices and procedures; maintain confidentiality of information; pay attention to detail and work effectively despite interruptions;Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work; Excellent organizational skills.
