The Intern - Information Security GRC, will be an administrative resource assisting Kiewit Technology Group teams in driving information security policies and standards for our organization. The purpose of this position is to primarily support several enterprise security processes and systems that are the backbone for many critical business activities. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide feedback on information security documentation, standards and practices, ensuring the underlying policies and procedures are supported. This position will also contribute towards the resolution of critical separation of duty conflicts in SAP and provide feedback in role redesign projects. This position will report to the Information Security GRC Supervisor within the Kiewit Technology Group. The Information Security GRC team ensures and enhances the availability, reliability and accessibility of Information security systems and tools and demonstrates Kiewit’s Information Technology (IT) department’s vision and alignment to the business objectives and strategy.


• Actively participates in review and maintenance of information security documentation, standards and practices

• Cross-department collaboration and communication to ensure appropriate compliance and risk addressed within processes, procedures

• Supporting role in reviewing user access roles to ensure least privileges and maintaining separation of duty risk

• Strategy, planning, and operational excellence through continuous improvement and documentation

• Provides guidance and awareness of risk and vulnerability requirements

• Document and conform to processes related to security compliance and governance

• Review quarterly continuous audit/monitoring updates/reports

• Track audit guidance and respond to customer inquiries, as needed

• Participate in knowledge sharing with other analysts to develop various levels of skill sets on the team

• Interface with technical personnel and other teams as required

• Support the information security function within the company as needed

• Stay informed and tuned to security industry regulations, risks and vulnerabilities


• Current student in computer related field such as Information Assurance, Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)

• Understanding of security related subjects such as separation of duties, risk, compliance and governance

• Desire and interest in Program Management

• Familiarity with tools used reporting and documenting security programs

• Natural curiosity, and a desire to continually learn and improve

• Experience collecting and using data to build compelling or engaging visuals

• Basic understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols

• Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

• Working experience with Microsoft Office Suite

• Possess analytical skills and attention to detail

• Must be highly motivated, self-starting and self-directed with the ability to multi-task, work independently and as a part of multiple teams
