The Opportunity

In this role, the Risk Management Intern will have the opportunity to gain resume-building work experience through exposure to real-world problems and issues not normally found in classroom settings pertaining to Risk Management at a financial institution. This is a paid, fulltime, entry-level position open to qualifying college level students only. Hours will be 40 hours per week.


  • Assist the Risk Management team by performing research and analysis, working extensively in Microsoft Excel.

  • Perform data analysis and document your work under the supervision of a other team members.

  • Work on ad-hoc projects for the Risk Management department.

  • Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union’s policies and procedures.


  • Must be attending an accredited four-year university, entering into a Junior standing class level or above.

  • Must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Accounting, Economics and Finance concentrations preferred.

  • Must be able to work fulltime (Monday – Friday).

  • Must be able to make at least a 2-3 month commitment between May 1, 2018 and September 30, 2018.

Competencies Required:

  • Must demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, Excel required and Access preferred.

  • Have outstanding verbal and written communication to correspond at all levels of the organization.

  • Be very detail oriented, well organized, and able to multi-task and prioritize assignments with limited supervision.

  • Must be able to illustrate great initiative as a highly motivated team player with a positive and outgoing attitude.
