This Intern position is for Summer 2018 and would support the electric meters used in Landis+Gyr’s Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) and Automatic Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems.
With training provided by Landis+Gyr, become proficient at using Landis+Gyr’s meter programming software tool (1132Prog).
With training provided by Landis+Gyr, become proficient at using Landis+Gyr’s meter RF communications software to test meter communications (Tech Studio).
Inventory customer meter programs, summarizing each setup for easy reference by System Engineers and customers.
Create and inventory baseline meter programs for various standard applications.
Report on and help prioritize meter and 1132Prog defects and customer requested enhancements using CRM.
Investigate and inventory market competitive AMI meter features.
Assist with the migration of customer meter shops to our new Tech Studio software.
Assist with the development of White Papers that document the setup and use of specific AMI meter features.
Supports and adheres to Company’s core values.
Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.

Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.
Ability to create graphs, pivot tables, charts in Excel and Power Point.
High proficiency operating MS Office software.
Basic knowledge of wireless communications
Confidence and ability in speaking publicly and training others.
Ability to understand and communicate information of a technical nature.
Ability to analyze both qualitative and quantitative data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
Excellent writing skills.
Ability to write training documents and procedures.
Enrolled in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Bachelor of Science or other technical program. Technical, financial, computing, engineering, or analytical background desired. Basic understanding of electric metering, business operations and wireless communications preferred.
