What you’ll get to do:

  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of environmental and safety compliance at concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and recycled materials facilities

  • Shadow Environmental and Safety Managers to learn about environmental and safety compliance

  • Assist Central Coast facilities with IT issues

  • Assist aggregate plants with inventory stockpile calculations

  • Gain exposure to various agencies

  • Environmental and safety permits and logs

  • Binder creation and upkeep

  • Consolidating logs when necessary

  • Checking if permits are current

  • Checking to make sure logs are being done correctly

  • Maintaining haz-waste manifests (waste and tires)

  • Stormwater inspections and sampling

  • Document organization and log collections

  • Collecting logs, scanning documents/logs/manifests, etc.

  • EniroLIS

  • Check-off items in our environmental management system

  • Environmental reporting

  • Data collection for chemical, emission, and toxic release inventories

  • Log collections for County, APCD and RWQCB reporting

  • Environmental and safety inspections

  • Prepare for and attend agency inspections

  • Monitor internal audit action item completion

  • Handle lower priority violations, etc.

  • Check and post plant signage

  • Hazmat signs and labels, washout signs, etc.
