In this role, you will be immersed in eBay Australia’s Product & Technology Innovation team to assist in developing local solutions, launching new product experiences and continually enhancing existing ones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with business units and Product Managers/Owners to understand project and product objectives and goals

  • Understand the needs, challenges and expectations of end users

  • Use design thinking principles to further this understanding and get to the right solution for targeted users

  • Assist PM’s to blueprint the solution design and architecture that meets the needs and requirements of multiple stakeholders and users

  • Define and prioritise user stories to execute the project and develop the solution

  • Work with UX designers to define the user experience and build that into the product

  • Work with the developers and QA team to ensure that a high quality product is delivered on-time and to spec

  • Drive to resolve obstacles that block the emerging product or enhancement in any way, whether it is technical, resource related or requires escalation

  • Work with business units, marketing teams, legal, CS and other stakeholders to launch new products and enhancements

  • Help educate team members on the way the product works

  • Assist with any relevant product and marketing documentation


  • Demonstrates passion for technologies (current and emerging) and their potential application

  • Ability to work in a team, coupled with outstanding stakeholder management

  • Self-starter with plenty of initiative and drive

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong and meticulous attention to detail

Ideal Candidate

  • Has an understanding of project management frameworks (preferably Agile)

  • Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of eBay’s business model

  • Degree qualified (or in progress) preferably in IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering

  • Suits candidates looking for a start in digital/eCommerce businesses

  • Curious and inquisitive – eager to research and discover

  • Interested and inspired to innovate and do things differently. Creative thinker.

  • Flexible with working in a fast paced, rapid change environment

  • Open to a braod range of input perspectives and comfortable working with a broad range of people, teams and stakeholders
